About the Y

Since 1880, the YMCA of Topeka has served Topeka and surrounding communities as a volunteer-led community organization with a mission to promote healthy lifestyles, strong families and positive youth development for all. We support a healthy spirit, mind and body through community development, education and wellness initiatives, youth and family programs, licensed childcare and camps, and physical activity. The Y and its supporters honor the commitment to serve all, regardless of their ability to pay, with scholarships and financial assistance programs to provide free or reduced-cost programs to eligible individuals and families.
