Update on the YMCA of Topeka facility

TOPEKA, KS (August 28, 2024) — On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Shawnee County District Court granted CoreFirst Bank and Trust declaratory judgment to sell the facilities at 3635 SW Chelsea Drive to the YMCA of Topeka. The decision is one step toward acquiring the building. It will take some time to work through all necessary steps before closing. In the interim, the YMCA of Topeka will continue normal operations, services, and programs to support our community.

Prairie Band Casino & Resort Donates Over $9,500 to YMCA of Topeka’s Caring for People Campaign through TITO Charity Program

TOPEKA, KS (April 25, 2025) — The YMCA of Topeka gives thanks to Prairie Band Casino & Resort for proudly helping support the YMCA of Topeka through its Q1 2025 TITO (Ticket-In, Ticket-Out) Box Charity Program by donating a total of $9,557.55 in collected slot tickets.

The TITO boxes, located at each entrance and exit of the gaming floor, allow guests to donate unwanted slot tickets to benefit local nonprofits. This quarter, the funds will support the YMCA of Topeka’s Caring for People Campaign and will provide program scholarships to youth and families in the community.

A formal check presentation will take place at the YMCA of Topeka on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 3:00 PM, with representatives from Prairie Band Casino & Resort alongside YMCA of Topeka leadership and staff. Through donations like this, Prairie Band Casino & Resort shows their commitment to giving back within the community by selecting a deserving area nonprofit to support each quarter.
